2002 NETAA Grand Championship
Super prizes for 2002!
NETAA is proud to announce that the special Grand Championship awards
program initiated at the '99 Outdoor Championship Games, and expanded
for the 2000 season, carries a special bonus for the 2002 season. In
addition to the guaranteed cash bonus awards ($1,000.00 for the men's
division, $500.00 for the ladies) provided by Northern Building Systems,
Inc., this year's men's champion will win a fully guided 1X1 trophy
moose hunt in Newfoundland with Sipaqmekik
Lodge. The hunt will be for a full six days during the 2003 season
at their "bowhunting only" trophy spike camp and is worth $2,800.00.
The men's champion will win an estimated $6,000.00 in cash and
prizes at this year's event! These cash bonus checks will be in addition
to special "huge" trophies, custom embroidered jackets, and a percentage
of the cash prize money in both the 3D and 540 championships. There
is no additional registration fee or application form required to compete
in the Grand Championship award program. Every archer competing in both
the 3D and 540 Championship Games (men must compete from orange stakes,
ladies from green), will automatically be entered into this special
competition. All archers must qualify and pre-register in both events
to compete. Archers competing in both the Money and Open Divisions will
be included.
The winners will be determined by adding the aggregate scores from
the semi-final rounds in both games using the following formula:
- Add the total score from the 540 round.
- Add one point for each arrow in the "10" ring (540 game)
- Add the total 3D scores from Friday and Saturday
- If a tie exists, add the total number of 12's shot (3D)
- If a tie still exists, add the scores from the final 3D (Sunday)
round
- If a tie still exists, add the total number of 12's from the final
3D round.
- If a tie still exists, a shoot off will be held on the 540 course
as determined by the tournament director.
The Grand Championship was designed to encourage more of the region's
top archers to compete at the Championship in both events and to encourage
sponsorship support through selection of overall champions.
Due to the generosity/support of Northern Building Systems, Inc.
(20 East Street, Dalton, MA 01226) and Sipaqmekik
Lodge (PO Box 59, Conne River, Newfoundland, A0H 1J0), we will
be able to continue this effort.
I hope all our members will call Northern Building Systems (800-562-9991)
if they hear of anyone that might be thinking of a commercial building
project, and Sipaqmekik Lodge when planning a moose, caribou, or black
bear hunt. These fine people are supporting NETAA, I'd like to think
NETAA members will support them.
Good shooting, Roy Goodwin Director
