NETAA Newsletter April 2003

Greetings fellow archers.

Winter is finally over! The outdoor season (3-D) has begun and more shoots are being scheduled all the time. Keep checking the NETAA website schedule page for updates. We are actively looking for clubs/organizations to hold sanctioned qualifiers in Central and Western parts of both New York and Pennsylvania. We would also like to see a qualifier or two in Ohio, Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia. If any of our members knows of a place that could hold a quality shoot in these areas please relay the information to us or direct them to the sanctioning section of our website.

NEW ENGLAND INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP- The New England Indoor Championship at Tepee Archery in Acton MA was a great success. Attendance was up approximately 50% over last year, although there was still room on the lines for more participation. Hopefully by next issue we will have a date scheduled for next year and everybody can mark their calendars appropriately. It would be good to see this shoot gain another 50% attendance next year. SOUTHERN TRIPLE CROWN- The first leg of Southern Triple Crown was another great success. Attendance was up almost 20% from last year and once again Delaware County Field & Stream members did an excellent job at hosting this event. The winners are listed below. We are looking forward to seeing you all at the second leg in Limerick, which also should be a wonderful event. For those who didn't attend the first leg, it should be mentioned again that Delaware County Club provided free lunch to all our contestants, which is really going over and above the call of duty! Thanks guys. Shoot Results

NEW YORK TRIPLE CROWN- Check the schedule, and make sure you don't miss any of these three events. The first one is coming up soon and we are looking forward to seeing as many people as possible at these three shoots.

NEW ENGLAND 3D CHAMPIONSHIP- Have you marked your calendars yet? We are looking for all of the archers in New England and as many as possible from New York and New Jersey to come and make this one outdoor NETAA 3-D event for the six New England States a rousing success. We are hoping to set a new attendance record at this shoot and we know we can't do it without the help of our New York and New Jersey members. It's only one shoot to prop up support for organized tournament archery in New England, so we are hoping we can count on all of you.

SPONSORSHIP- With the Pro Rep program gradually getting of the ground, in combination with all of the letters that we sent to manufacturers in the industry, sponsorship support is increasing for the NETAA Tournament Tour. The following manufacturers have already donated product to the tour this year: Kwikee Kwiver Company, Inc., Muzzy Products, BCY Incorporated, Trail Blazer, Matthews, Hogs Limited, and Tanks Fatal Attractor. In addition Muzzy has continued their long term support of the NETAA Tour with cash sponsorship and two outfitters have already donated hunts. Unfortunately space doesn't permit us to give a full write up on the donated hunts in this issue so we will follow up on that next month. We also hope to have as many as five hunts to give away at the World Championship this year. Make sure you qualify!

PRO STAFF- While we have had a number of people raise their hands, we still need more help. If you have a little bit of time and a computer, we would love to have you join the team! All that is required is sending a few E-mail messages to manufacturers, guides and outfitters trying to encourage them to support the NETAA tour. We have already sent letters to everyone and therefore what we are looking for is "personalized" follow- up on our initial effort. Any help would be appreciated. Contact me (NRoyGoodwin@netscape.net) for more information on how to help.

Good shooting,

Roy Goodwin
