WHY JOIN NETAA?

 The Northeast Tournament Archery Association (NETAA) was founded in 1995 to promote organized tournament archery of all kinds in the eleven state North East region. In spite of a large number of archers, the region has never enjoyed the big money events that have become common in the central and southern parts of the country. We have the population, the archers, and the media, we just lack the organization to draw the money. NETAA's mission is to change that situation and bring the region the status necessary to bring the big events and sponsors. In the first five years we managed to accomplish the following:

1. Publish a regular newsletter that has reached over 500,000 serious archers/bowhunters nationwide.
2. Established the successful New England 3-D Triple Crown Tour in 95s .
3. Established a successful New York 3-D Triple Crown in '99.
4. Held five annual NETAA "World Championships" right here in the North East.
5. Co-founded the Aim For College Foundation (AFCF).
6. Became the sanctioning body for the national AFCF tournament program.
7  Sanctioned dozens of significant tournaments in the region from Maine to Pennsylvania.
8. Awarded over $35,000 in cash prizes and distributed over $14,000 in College Tuition Voucher Certificates to the region's archers.
9. Achieved National Awareness in several archery publications.
10. Developed a Pro Division.
11. Developed a Bowhunter Proficiency Round
12. Developed a Youth Development League and Awards Program.
13. Established the "Grand Champion" award and annual team events in '99.

 All of the above helped raise national awareness of the organization and the region, setting the stage for completing our future goals.

 Our plan is to continue this work by expanding the program and awareness of the organization in the national archery community. Our plans include:

a. Sanctioning qualifiers in all 11 (eleven) states to bring the maximum number of archers from the entire region to the championship each summer.
b. Raise significantly more prize fund money for the Annual Championships.
c. Increase attendance at all events.
d. Promote the new Bowhunter Proficiency Round.
e. Increase public awareness of archery and the organization.

 These are ambitious goals. To accomplish them we need the support of the active archers in the region. The archers will reap the benefits both short and long term. There will be bigger and better shoots, with more prize money! There will be more sponsorship interest in the archers of the region. There will be more manufacturers coming to us at shows, shoots, and events. The top archers in the region will get national exposure in all major archery publications. You won't have to travel half way across the country to participate in major events with large prizes, they will be held in your back yard for a change!

WHY JOIN NETAA.
 To make this all happen NETAA needs your support. We need large numbers of active members to demonstrate that the archers are serious about promoting their sport. We also need more attendance at the events to prove to the industry that we have the support. When the numbers grow, the prize fund grows. When the prize fund grows, shooters will come from further distances. When large numbers of shooters come, the manufacturers want to be there. When the manufacturers all start coming they will increase their sponsorship efforts to compete for visibility. When the sponsors join the large number of archers at a major event, it becomes news that ALL publications will report and sponsorship support increases. This is how it works! The first step is "someone" has to organize a program and sanctioning body to oversee and coordinate the program. NETAA has accomplished that! The second step is the support of the archers in the area. From there everything expands on the domino effect!

 It's your turn to help make it happen. That's why you should join NETAA today and encourage others to join as well! You will need to be a member next August to compete in the championship anyway, why not join now to do your part to make "your" organization the best it can be?
